A sliding vane pump is a popular design for applications requiring flow rates of 75 LPM - 1000 LPM. The sliding vane design combines low cost with high reliability and easy maintenance. The sliding vane principle is simple: a slotted rotor is supported in a cam. The rotor is placed close to the wall of the cam, so a crescent-shaped cavity is formed. The clearances are precise and minimal. Vanes, also known as blades, slide in and out of the rotor slots to seal off a volume between the rotor, cam and side plate. The blades sweep the fluid to the opposite side of the crescent, where it is squeezed through the discharge point. Sliding vane pumps can run dry for a short period of time; they also can tolerate small amounts of vapour. Sliding vane pumps are widely used for low viscosity fluids and for fuel transfer, including LPG, diesel, petrol, biodiesel, and liquefied gases, as well as for loading and unloading.
Sliding vane pumps are specially designed for industrial solvents and petroleum products.
Besides its unique cam design and longer-lasting advanced materials, the PZ-Series Coro-Vane® pump from Corken has other features to extend pump life and reduce maintenance. Unlike pumps with conventional steel vane drivers that eventually penetrate the vane, the PZ-Series pump has a large diameter, nonmetallic, lightweight vane drivers that are extremely durable. They will not damage the vanes, even at high RPM. And precision-machined side plates are reversible to provide twice the service life.
Corken PZ-Series pumps are simple to service. The head assembly can be easily removed by removing only eight bolts, giving you easy access to the reversible side plate, mechanical seal and vanes.
PT-Series petroleum pumps from Corken offer the industry sliding vane pump for flexibility and independence in the configuration and installation of fluid transfer systems and fuel delivery vehicles.
These industrial pumps match common industry-standard flange-to-flange and mounting footprint dimensions for easy incorporation into existing or new vehicle layouts. They provide features that will be appreciated by system designers, delivery truck fabricators, and end-user fuel marketers.
Corken sliding vane pumps are suitable for pumping a variety of liquids, including petrochemicals, petrol, fuel oils, diesel, aviation fuels, biofuels, ethanol, solvents and many more.

Oval gear meters are presented by TM, TN and TS series and are used for metering fuels, lubricants, oils, and industrial fluids. Oval gear operating principle. The oval measuring chamber contains two oval gears. Each gear is centred on a horizontal post (shaft). The two gears have interlocking teeth, so the gears maintain the correct relative position to each other without the use of external timing gears. As the gears turn, the liquid volume being metered forms between the gear and the side of the measuring chamber, alternately in the lower and the upper half of the measuring chamber. In a complete cycle (360° turn of rotors), 4 identical liquid volumes are transferred from the inlet side to the outlet side: At 0-45°, the lower half of the chamber fills, at 90° it is fully defined, and at 135° it releases to the outlet side etc. The origin of the oval gear metering principles dates back to the 1930s. In the original design, the tooth profile has sharp edges, and the tooth shape varies depending upon tooth location along the circumference of the oval gear. In 2003 Tuthill Transfer Systems was awarded a patent on a revolutionary new oval gear design, which we have named the Waveform gear. This design has a smooth tooth profile, and the teeth have the same shape along the entire circumference of the oval gear. This eliminates backlash and reduces flow meter error. The Waveform gear design has been introduced in most model sizes as of 2006.
TS Series Meter
TS meters are used in batching, blending, process control and dispensing of liquid products in all liquid handling industries. They can measure from 15 to 1000 l/min.
These meters are based on a highly modular design, with many parts shared between multiple models. They are bi-directional and can be serviced either from the front or from the rear, though service from the front is most practical.
Standard models are available in 3 versions:
- Mechanical flow meter with mechanical register (V assy.)
- Electronic flow sensor without register (S or W assy.)
- Electronic flow meter with electronic register (E or F assy.)
TM Series Meter
TM Series, ¼”, ⅜”, ½” & ¾”
These smaller oval gear meters are rated for ±0.5% linearity (±0.25% with electronic enhancement) as a group. The two larger models perform significantly better than this and will usually achieve +/-0.25% linearity without electronic enhancement.
TM Series flow sensors are available with electronic signal conditioner and/or register, but not with mechanical register. Typical applications are additive injection, fuel consumption monitors and other low flow systems.
TN Series Meter
This series of nutating disc meters dates back to the founding of Fluid Power Products and beyond. This is a moderately priced product with intermediate linearity & repeatability. These flow meters are available in two versions:
- Mechanical meter with 4-digit register
- Electronic flow sensor for use with remote electronic register
TN Series meters are available with a pressure rating of 1000 PSI (69 BAR), and can be calibrated for liquids with viscosity to 2500 cSt (12,000 SSU). This Series serves to span the gap between Fill-Rite meters (low pressure & low viscosity only), and flow meters with better linearity, higher capacity & pressure rating.
These meters perform well in service where the liquid viscosity remains constant or the viscosity is consistently above 150 cSt (700 SSU). In service where liquid viscosity fluctuates in 15-150 cSt (70-700 SSU) range, an oval gear type flow meter will perform better.
The dependable and accurate Neptune oscillating piston design has long been the meter of choice for refined fuel delivery. The straightforward operating principle requires few moving parts and results in a robust and durable mechanism. Combined with the E4000 electronic register, the Neptune LP gas meter delivers the highest accuracy and reliability attainable in mechanical metering.
